I am an honors student at UC San Diego completing a B.S. in Political Science/Data Analytics with a minor in Computational Social Science. My background combines strong writing and communication skills with training in statistics, data analysis, R, and Python. At UCSD I have conducted research on political behavior, quantitative methods, and large social science datasets, and I enjoy helping students turn confusing material into something clear and manageable. I can be especially helpful in writing, reading comprehension, essay development, public speaking, debate, government and politics, political science, study skills, introductory statistics, data analysis, and beginner R or Python.

My most direct teaching experience comes from serving as a Teaching Assistant and Co-Instructor in Debate & Forensics. In that role, I led weekly practices and workshops, developed and graded assignments, and coached students one-on-one in argumentation, evidence use, research strategy, speech organization, and delivery. I have worked most extensively with middle school, high school, and college-age students in both individualized and classroom-style settings. That experience taught me that students do best when tutoring is responsive to their actual gaps and goals.

My tutoring style is patient, structured, and encouraging. I start by identifying what a student already understands, where they are getting stuck, and what success should look like for them. From there, I break skills into manageable steps, use clear examples, connect lessons to the student’s class or assignment, and give direct feedback so progress is visible. I do not want students to simply finish homework and move on; I want them to become stronger writers, speakers, readers, and problem-solvers who can work more independently over time. Families and students can expect preparation, reliable communication, and lessons that are personalized, goal-oriented, and built to create progress.

Career Development

I’m a UC San Diego Political Science–Data Analytics student with Provost Honors, and my background spans research, public service, leadership, and competitive academic advancement. I’ve held internships in the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and the City of Fresno, while also leading large student-facing organizations and mentoring peers in academic and professional development. I help students with resumes, cover letters, internship strategy, interview preparation, leadership positioning, and translating academic experience into strong professional narratives. My approach is especially useful for students pursuing public service, research, social science, policy, or early-career college internship pathways.
College Counseling

College Counseling

I’m a UC San Diego Political Science–Data Analytics student with Provost Honors, and I transferred successfully after earning two associate degrees for transfer with Highest Honors. I can help students with college planning, transfer strategy, academic pathway mapping, applications, personal positioning, and making sense of how coursework, extracurriculars, and long-term goals fit together. My own path has involved navigating the community-college-to-UC transfer process, building a strong academic record, pursuing competitive research opportunities, and preparing Ph.D. applications across top programs. I’m especially well suited to help students interested in transfer pathways, public universities, social science, research-oriented trajectories, and turning an ambitious but messy plan into a clear one.

My background is best suited for students in beginning or lower-division programming environments who want clear, structured help connecting code, logic, and problem solving.
Debate

Debate

As a Teaching Assistant / Co-Instructor in Debate & Forensics at Fresno City College, I led weekly practice sessions and workshops on argumentation, evidence evaluation, and public speaking for both beginning and advanced debaters. I also developed and graded assignments, practice rounds, and feedback rubrics, and I coached students one-on-one in case construction, research strategy, refutation, and tournament preparation. As a competitor, I earned a Bronze Medal in International Public Debate and a Silver Medal in National Parliamentary Debate at the California Community College Forensics Association State Championships. My broader academic background as a UC San Diego honors student in Political Science/Data Analytics strengthens the research, analytical, and evidence-based reasoning skills I bring to debate tutoring.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I’m a UC San Diego Political Science–Data Analytics student with strong experience in academic writing, argumentation, and research-based papers across political science, public policy, and computational social science. I’ve written major research papers, scholarship essays, and graduate application materials, including a substantial working paper on California electoral geography and a senior honors thesis project on smart-city data governance. I also served as a Teaching Assistant / Co-Instructor in Debate & Forensics, where I led workshops on argumentation, evidence evaluation, case construction, and clear written reasoning. My tutoring is especially strong for essay planning, thesis development, organization, revision, integrating evidence, and helping students turn rough ideas into polished academic writing.
GIS

GIS

I’m a UC San Diego Political Science–Data Analytics student with hands-on experience in GIS-informed research, spatial data science, and geospatial modeling. In my research on California voting and higher education, I used GIS tools to measure precinct proximity to colleges, build inverse-distance-weighted spatial exposure metrics, and integrate geospatial variables into statistical and machine learning models. I also list geospatial analysis among my technical skills, including work with spatial methods in R such as sf, tmap, and IDW-based modeling. I’m best suited to help students with introductory-to-intermediate GIS concepts, spatial analysis workflows, mapping logic, and applying geospatial methods to research projects.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I’m a UC San Diego Political Science–Data Analytics student with experience in public speaking, professional communication, and competitive academic and civic environments. I previously served as a Teaching Assistant / Co-Instructor in Debate & Forensics, where I led workshops on argumentation, evidence use, and clear verbal delivery, and I’ve also held internships in the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and local government. That background allows me to help students strengthen interview responses, organize their stories, improve confidence, and communicate clearly under pressure.
