My name is Lori and I am an experienced tutor in many different subjects. I have substitute taught elementary school, and English and Social Studies in High School when I had a temporary credential. I have tutored all ages from kindergarten through high school. I have also tutored non-English speakers in learning conversational English. Reading is a passion for me, and I can help students with both American and World Literature, being familiar with both modern and classic literature, both fiction and non-fiction. If you need help editing or simply writing an essay, I have the skills to help you work on making your writing the best it can be. I love history as well, especially American History.
I love teaching all ages. I have worked with very young students, including students for whom English was a second language. On the other end of the spectrum, I recently taught several Film classes at a local senior center, which was great fun and a learning experience for both me and my students. I have worked with students who have ADHD and minor learning disabilities, and have great patience with all types of students.
As for my educational background, I studied at both UCLA and USC, with a degree in Cinema History/Criticism from USC, and a MA from USC in Communications Management from the Annenberg School of Communication. It would be a pleasure to tutor either you or your child.
