Hi, I'm Aaron! I graduated from my high school class of 2023 and am currently attending UC Berkeley, with an intended major in physics. My current GPA is 3.569, and classes I have taken include Calculus I, II, and III, Newtonian Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and Linear Algebra. Regarding SAT experience, I have taken the test one time in December of 2021, and scored 1550 out of 1600 (790 Math, 760 Reading). In college, I have also taken an 'Introduction to Teaching' course, where I had the opportunity to correspond with a mathematics teacher at a local public high school; I learned about his profession, and even got to visit his classroom, and observe how it was run and how he interacted with students to help them succeed.
Regarding my own tutoring experience, I have not formally taught academic subjects to others before, but I have four years of experience working and volunteering at a martial arts dojo. I taught children ages 3 to 15 in both group and one-on-one settings, and often the students who booked consistent one-on-one lessons with me went on to win national competitions in their age range. I aim to transfer these teaching skills to mathematics and physics to help students succeed. Both this experience with martial arts and my coursework have given me an interest in teaching, and I have enrolled in a STEM teaching pedagogy course for the fall 2024 semester to develop this further.
