Kevin here! I have over 10 years of experience working as a private tutor for students ranging from middle school through college level. My primary area of expertise is AP Calculus AB/BC, but I have also tutored a wide range of subjects including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, linear algebra, differential equations, physics, and more. I work primarily in one-on-one settings and adapt my teaching style based on each student’s learning needs, goals, and current level of understanding.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from MIT and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech with a focus on machine learning. In addition to tutoring, I have professional experience as a software engineer using Python, C++, and C#. My academic and professional background gives me a strong understanding of both mathematical theory and practical problem solving.
One of the biggest strengths I bring as a tutor is that I clearly remember what it felt like to struggle with these subjects myself. Because of that, I am often able to quickly identify exactly where a student is getting lost and explain concepts in a way that finally clicks for them. I focus heavily on building intuition and understanding rather than memorization, and I try to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through mistakes. Over the years, I have worked with students preparing for AP exams, improving classroom performance, and building confidence in subjects they previously found intimidating.
