I earned my bachelor’s degree and my teaching credential from California State University, Fullerton. I have been a classroom teacher for the past four years, working primarily in upper elementary grades. My training and experience have prepared me to support students in foundational literacy and math skills, as well as in developing strong academic habits and confidence as learners.
In my current role, I teach 5th grade in a classroom setting and regularly use a variety of instructional approaches to meet diverse student needs. I incorporate small group instruction, differentiated lessons, and structured reading strategies such as guided reading and shared reading routines. I also use tools like read-aloud supports for struggling readers and structured participation strategies to ensure all students are engaged. My experience includes working with students with a wide range of academic levels and learning needs, and I consistently adjust instruction based on ongoing assessment data.
I am also experienced in providing timely feedback and supporting student growth through goal setting and conferencing. I assess student work regularly, provide feedback within 24 hours when possible, and meet with students to review progress and set academic goals. These experiences have strengthened my ability to tutor students in reading, writing, and math by breaking down skills into manageable steps and using targeted strategies to support individual growth.
