I have 30 years teaching experience, specializing in Japanese speaking, reading, and writing for children and adults.
In Japan, I graduated with a major in English Literature and minor in Childrens’ Education. I taught English to Japanese students (Kindergarten through Middle School) in a private language school in Tokyo. I was also a consultant for a Japanese publishing company to create English teaching materials for Japanese children.

In Japan, I graduated with a major in English Literature and minor in Childrens’ Education. I taught English to Japanese students (Kindergarten through Middle School) in a private language school in Tokyo. I was also a consultant for a Japanese publishing company to create English teaching materials for Japanese children.
In the US, my students have ranged from Pre-Kindergarten through Graduate School level. For the past 17 years, I have taught elementary through middle school grades at Asahi Gakuen, a Japanese school supported by Japan’s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs which offers the same curriculum as that established by the Japanese government for all children in Japan.
It’s important to me to make learning fun! I enjoy connecting with each student to understand their needs and design a personalized plan toward their goal.
