Bio

My goal is to help you reach your goals! I am a native speaker with over 25 years teaching experience, including extensive experience coaching business professionals to become better public speakers. I have worked with hundreds of working professionals from China, Russia, Belarus, Mongolia, Egypt, Brazil, Japan, Taiwan, Mauritania, Korea, Peru, Argentina, Germany and Mexico, many of whom work in the tech industry.

My goal is to help you reach your goals! I am a native speaker with over 25 years teaching experience, including extensive experience coaching business professionals to become better public speakers. I have worked with hundreds of working professionals from China, Russia, Belarus, Mongolia, Egypt, Brazil, Japan, Taiwan, Mauritania, Korea, Peru, Argentina, Germany and Mexico, many of whom work in the tech industry.
In total, during the last 10 years, I have held over 6,000 online sessions. It is a privilege to coach individuals with public speaking, accent reduction, colloquial and idiomatic usage of language, interpreting theory, small talk skills, job interviews, English for meetings, pushing back, language for conflict resolution in the workplace, and articulation/pronunciation challenges. You will find me encouraging, patient and with a good sense of humor. We will share dynamic materials during the session, but you are always welcome to bring your own materials or concerns so that we can pivot to current needs.
Having lived in several cultures, I have a true understanding of the challenges facing language learners. During my sessions, you will talk extensively, do role-play and work hard, but you will also experience empathy, patience, humor and compassion. My goal is to help you reach your highest potential during sessions that are both enjoyable and impactful. I want you to find great value in your investment.
I also worked for 15 years as a Certified Legal Interpreter with the United States Courts (English/Spanish) and trainer of new interpreters, and consequently have an extensive background in communication related to legal jargon.

I have a bachelor's degree in Language Learning and three TESOL certificates. My experience includes 25+ years as a teacher and nine years as an online language coach with hundreds of students from China, Russia, Brazil and Mexico. I have helped many people to become better public speakers and have extensive public speaking experience. Some individuals I have coached eventually spoke before thousands of people! I am also a Certified Court Interpreter (English/Spanish) with 15 years courtroom experience and even wrote for a newspaper at one time. I have had several sessions with Sherri, and I am amazed at how much she has helped me improve in a short period of time. I believe every student would benefit from sessions with her. Sherri has a vibrant personality and a great sense of humor. I was particularly impressed by her patience and her ability to identify the way each student learns best. She pointed out that I tend to share too much information, my sentences aren't well-structured, and I lack vocabulary.
