Since I can remember, I've loved to teach others, and learn about how people learn. So naturally, when I hit high school, I decided to try tutoring as a job. As I gained experience as a tutor, I found ways to adjust my teaching style to cater to the needs of each student. I learned how to give clear and concise explanations, followed by examples that each student can relate to, and make each subject exciting to learn about. As I gained knowledge throughout college, and experience as a tutor, I picked up useful skills that I happily pass on to students.

Math is one of the subjects I have the most experience tutoring in. I have always been interested in not just how to do the math, but why it works. This inquisitive attitude towards the subject led me to learn more about proofs, and techniques, that I use to solve problems more simply and quickly. I took honors level calculus 1, 2, and 3 in college. In these courses, we learned how to derive each formula, and prove that each theorem is true. That knowledge gave me a better understanding of how math works, and has allowed me to identify fundamentally what a student is, and isn't, understanding. This makes me great at targeting what exactly each student needs help with, explaining each concept, and showing them simple techniques they can use to solve each problem.

Physics is another subject I specialize in. As an engineering major in college, I’ve taken many Physics classes. I learned about methods I use to break down and solve Physics problems that make a tough subject seem much easier. If you’re having trouble with Physics, I can pass on these methods to you.

I’ve always enjoyed writing, and I tutor in English for anyone that needs help writing essays. I’ll show you how to give your teacher exactly what they’re looking for, and teach you useful techniques that you can carry with you as a writer.
