I have been performing as a violist in many different types of ensembles including chamber orchestras and strings ensemble. As a member in Junior Chamber Music, I played R. Schumann Piano Quartet Op.47 at Winifred Smith Hall in UC Irvine. As a solo player, I played M. Bruch Romanze for Viola and Orchestra, Op.85 with the IVC Orchestra at the IVC Performing Arts Center. I performed for church services and other ceremonial occasions.
I began teaching private lessons seven years ago. I like teaching because I can help pupils achieve. I continued my teaching career by directing strings of junior orchestras in Irvine. I directed strings of IDream Junior Orchestra and the IBC Junior Orchestra in many public performances for years. I also directed the viola section of Purme Orchestra in Seoul, Korea. As an active member in Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), in addition, I have given private music lessons for violin and viola.

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Strings Builder. Once student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate such as Suzuki for their first performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in or what goals they aim for. Based on their levels, I try to introduce repertoire which they might be interested in and to motivate them to engage themselves with the lessons and practicing in order to achieve what they want from learning music.

I believe motivation is most importa
