Hi! I'm Ronnie, a licensed secondary English educator and UCLA graduate with an M.A. in English Education. Over the past three years, I've worked extensively with high school students in California and Connecticut, including students in AP English Literature and AP English Language. I specialize in literary analysis, academic writing, essay development, reading comprehension, and helping students become more confident and effective communicators.
Before becoming an educator, I worked at Marvel Studios as the Lead Corporate Production Assistant supporting the Office of the President and Office of the Co-President. My background in both education and the entertainment industry has shaped the way I teach; I believe strong writing is ultimately about learning how to communicate ideas clearly, thoughtfully, and with purpose. Whether we're breaking down a challenging piece of literature, strengthening an essay, or preparing for an AP English course, I want students to understand why something works, not simply memorize what they're supposed to do.
My teaching style is encouraging, conversational, and highly individualized. I've worked with students across a wide range of abilities and subjects, and I especially enjoy helping high school students discover that they're capable of more than they initially think. I can support students with English Language Arts, AP Literature and Language, analytical and persuasive writing, essay revision, literary analysis, and college application writing. My goal is for students to leave each session not only with stronger work, but with skills and confidence they can carry into the classroom independently.
