Philosophy PhD with 5 years of university teaching experience

I earned my PhD in Philosophy at UC Irvine in 2026. I have 5 years of experience teaching, structuring lesson plans, and personalizing plans for students at UC Irvine in the Philosophy and Composition departments. I have delivered an ethics course as the Instructor of Record at UC Irvine, taught and evaluated students as a TA for 5 years, and have 6 quarters of experience teaching as a primary instructor for the Composition department. My experience evaluating student writing as part of the composition department is especially useful for students applying to undergraduate programs or graduate school, since the composition program often evaluates student writing submissions for students applying to UCI. My experience understanding the expectations of such programs and knowing how to strengthen students' performance in clear and measurable ways is something I take pride in. My work within the composition department focused on strengthening students' argumentative and research writing skills, practicing concrete writing habits while developing a clear and unique voice.

Additionally, I earned my Aerospace Engineering BS and Philosophy BA from UC Irvine. This unique background provides me with strong quantitative skills and comfort engaging with technical materials. Even more crucially, my experience working within both STEM and the humanities helps me understand individual student needs and strengths more clearly and to tailor lessons towards them. Whether students are aiming to improve writing and research, preparing to apply to undergraduate or graduate programs, or are seeking general academic tutoring I am eager to apply my pedagogical expertise to students' benefit.
