I'm Aryan, a Biological Sciences major at UC Irvine (3.85 GPA, graduating 2027) on the MD-PhD track, with straight A's in every biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry and general chemistry course I have taken. I'm Aryan, a Biological Sciences major at UC Irvine (3.85 GPA, graduating 2027) on the MD-PhD track, with straight A's in every biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry and general chemistry course I have taken. Organic chemistry is what I love teaching most: across UCI's full sequence (Chem 51A, 51B, 51C and the 51LB lab) I scored 100% on two midterms and above 94% on essentially every exam in classes with medians of 35% to 60%, which led UCI's Chemistry Department to bring me on in 2025 as a Learning Assistant for Chem 51A, running weekly sessions for undergraduates.

Between that role and private one-on-one tutoring I have worked with college students ranging from confident to panicked, and the pattern is always the same: organic chemistry is not a memorization class, even though almost everyone studies it like one. I strip a mechanism down to the few physical constraints driving it (sterics, intermediate stability, reagent strength and charge, whether the orbitals can line up) so a student can predict a reaction they have never seen rather than recall one they have, and I find the exact step where a student's model breaks before we drill anything, because practice on a misconception just makes it permanent. For general chemistry, biology, biochemistry and statistics I do the same: make the core ideas airtight, then build speed with exam-style problems. AP students are welcome too.

I also do this material for real: I spent two years researching ALS in human neurons at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, which produced a co-authored paper in the Journal of Clinical Investigation (2025), and before that worked on Hepatitis C immunoassays and protein purification at Scripps Research. I co-authored a published systematic review on vitamin D and COVID-19 (2024) and am first author on a review manuscript on microglial dysfunction in ALS, so in biology I can connect the textbook to how the science is actually done. I earned an A in biochemistry at UC Irvine, but most of what I know about the subject comes from doing it: I purified proteins by HPLC and FPLC, mapped antibody epitopes by ELISA and ran site-directed mutagenesis to probe structure-function relationships at Scripps Research, then spent two years studying protein aggregation and quality control in human neurons at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, work that produced a co-authored paper in the Journal of Clinical Investigation (2025). That means when we cover enzyme kinetics, protein structure, metabolism or signaling, I can explain not just what the pathway does but why it is built that way and what the experiment that proved it looked like. Biochemistry is where students who memorized their way through biology finally hit a wall, so I focus on the handful of principles that regenerate the details on demand (free energy, coupling, binding equilibria, regulation at branch points) rather than on flashcards. I tutor college biochemistry and the biochemistry sections of the MCAT, and I start every student by finding exactly where their understanding breaks before we drill anything.

Beyond coursework, I have spent three years doing biology for real: two years researching ALS in human stem-cell-derived neurons at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, which produced a co-authored paper in the Journal of Clinical Investigation (2025), and before that immunology and protein work at Scripps Research, alongside a published systematic review on vitamin D and COVID-19 (2024) and a first-author review manuscript on microglia in ALS that I am currently writing. That background means I can explain why a pathway or process works the way it does and what it actually looks like in a lab, which is what makes the material stick rather than stay memorized. I work with college and AP Biology students, and I structure sessions around the specific course and exam format you are facing, starting by finding exactly where your understanding breaks down before we drill anything.

I earned straight A's through UC Irvine's general chemistry sequence and then the full organic chemistry series and biochemistry, and in 2025 UCI's Chemistry Department hired me as a Learning Assistant, where I ran weekly sessions for undergraduates working through the department's chemistry exams. General chemistry trips students up for a specific reason: it is taught as a pile of unrelated formulas, when nearly all of it (stoichiometry, gas laws, equilibrium, acids and bases, thermodynamics, kinetics, electrochemistry) comes down to a few ideas like conservation of mass, proportional reasoning and where a system wants to sit at equilibrium. I teach those ideas first and make sure a student can set up a problem from scratch before we touch a calculator, then build speed with problems written the way the exam actually asks them. I work with college students in general chemistry as well as high school and AP Chemistry students, and I still use this material daily in research at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, so I can show where it matters beyond the exam.

I completed UC Irvine's full organic chemistry sequence (Chem 51A, 51B, 51C and the 51LB lab) with straight A's, scoring 100% on two midterms and above 94% on essentially every exam in classes where the medians ran between 35% and 60%. That record led UCI's Chemistry Department to hire me in 2025 as a Learning Assistant for Chem 51A, where I ran weekly sessions helping undergraduates work through the same exams I had just taken, and I have tutored organic chemistry privately one-on-one as well. I teach mechanisms as the consequence of a few physical constraints (sterics, intermediate stability, reagent strength and charge, orbital alignment) rather than as reactions to memorize, so a student can predict a product they have never seen instead of recalling one they have. My favorite material to teach is where students struggle most: SN1/SN2/E1/E2 competition, stereochemistry and the anti-periplanar requirement, carbonyl and enolate chemistry (aldol, Claisen, Dieckmann, Michael), aromatic substitution, and reading NMR and IR backward to a structure. I also love all nucleophile, redox, addition and acid base reactions! And I love teaching mechanisms of any reaction ever.
Statistics

Statistics

I completed coursework in statistical models and research design at UC Irvine covering hypothesis testing, t-tests and ANOVA, correlation and regression, and causal inference, with analysis done in both R and Python. More importantly, I use statistics for real: three years of research at the UC Irvine School of Medicine and Scripps Research meant choosing the right test for my own data, checking its assumptions and defending the result in a paper that was published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation (2025), plus a co-authored systematic review where evaluating other people's statistics was the whole job. Most students struggle with statistics because they are handed a flowchart of tests without ever being told what a p-value or a confidence interval is actually claiming, so I start there and make sure a student can explain in plain English what question a test answers before we compute anything. I work with college students in introductory and applied statistics, especially in biology, psychology and pre-health programs, as well as AP Statistics.
