Nice to meet you, I’m Aryan! I recently graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Computer Science, along with a minor in Education & Society. I graduated summa cum laude with a 3.96 GPA and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honors society.
I bring 6+ years of tutoring and mentoring experience across a wide range of students and goals. I have taught middle school students foundational computer science, tutored high school students in courses like AP Calculus, and mentored advanced students on AI research that has led to acceptances at top conferences such as NeurIPS and ICML.
My academic background includes coursework in mathematics (honors calculus, linear algebra), statistics (mathematical probability), computer science (honors discrete math, graduate-level algorithms), and machine learning (including generative AI and theoretical foundations). In addition to STEM, my minor in Education & Society informs a teaching approach grounded in proven learning science, allowing me to adapt to each student’s needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all method.
There are two approaches to teaching: one that helps students get by, and another that equips them with the skills and confidence to consistently succeed. I focus on the latter. My sessions are structured, interactive, and tailored to each student, with an emphasis on independent problem-solving, clear thinking, and long-term mastery. In addition to academics, I competed in collegiate track and field and became a national champion. This experience shapes my approach to teaching: I emphasize discipline, consistency, and the ability to perform under pressure; understanding the content is just one aspect of learning.
Whether the goal is improving grades, preparing for AP exams, building a strong foundation in programming, or pursuing advanced topics like algorithms or AI research, I work to help students develop clarity, confidence, and lasting academic success.
