Salut! I’m Jamall, a student at UC Irvine. I lived in Mauritania for over six years, where French is widely spoken and used in schools, so French became a part of my daily life. Through both real-world exposure and academic study, I developed strong French skills and a genuine appreciation for language learning. I’ve also worked with elementary, middle school, and high school students, which has given me experience adapting lessons to different ages, learning styles, and goals.
When I tutor, I focus on helping students understand the logic behind the language rather than simply memorizing rules. I like to use analogies, draw comparisons to English when helpful, and break grammar into smaller, manageable pieces. During online lessons, I often use a virtual whiteboard with colors and visual organization to make grammatical structures easier to follow and remember. Whether we're working on homework, preparing for an exam, improving pronunciation, or building speaking confidence, I aim to make each lesson engaging, interactive, and tailored to the student's needs. My goal is for students to leave each session with a stronger understanding of French and more importantly, the confidence to keep using it on their own.
