I am a dedicated educator with over 20 years of teaching experience and a passion for helping students build confidence and succeed academically. I earned my undergraduate degree in Special Education from Illinois State University and went on to receive my Master's degree in Special Education from George Mason University. I currently hold an active teaching credential and teach at a high school in IUSD, where I serve as a co-teacher in Humanities classes, supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them access challenging curriculum.
Throughout my career, I have developed a deep commitment to meeting students where they are and helping them grow both academically and personally. In addition to my classroom teaching, I have spent multiple years tutoring elementary and middle school students. I especially enjoy working one-on-one with students who need extra support or who may feel discouraged in school.
My tutoring approach focuses on making learning fun, interactive, and tailored to each student's unique learning style. I use creative strategies and real world connections to help students understand concepts they may struggle with in the classroom. My goal is not only to help students improve their academic performance but also to build their confidence and give them tools that will support their success long after our tutoring sessions.
