After spending over a decade in corporate finance at CBRE, where I developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, I transitioned into education because I discovered a genuine passion for helping students unlock their potential in math. My business finance degree gave me a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and their real-world applications, which I now use to make abstract ideas more relatable for young learners. Beyond my professional background, I’ve spent years working with children and animals, which has taught me patience, adaptability, and how to read non-verbal cues—essential skills when working with students who may struggle to express where they’re confused or frustrated. I specialize in tutoring elementary and middle school students (grades K-8) in all areas of math, from foundational number sense and arithmetic to fractions, decimals, word problems, and pre-algebra.

My tutoring approach is built on three principles: diagnosis, personalization, and confidence-building. I start every relationship by identifying exactly where a student is struggling—whether it’s a foundational gap, test anxiety, or simply needing concepts explained differently than they’re hearing in class. From there, I create a customized plan tailored to their specific needs and learning style. I use real-world examples, visual aids, hands-on practice, and step-by-step breakdowns to make math concrete rather than abstract. For students who find math intimidating, I focus on creating a supportive, low-pressure environment where mistakes are learning opportunities, not failures. My goal isn’t just to help students pass their next test—it’s to build genuine understanding, problem-solving skills, and a positive relationship with math that will serve them throughout their academic journey. I’m patient, reliable, and deeply committed to helping each student not only improve their grades but truly feel confident in their mathematical abilities.
