From Hello to Fluency - Mandarin, Cantonese & Vietnamese

Hi! My name is Eric, and I’m a passionate and patient trilingual tutor with a strong background in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Vietnamese language instruction. I was born and raised in a multilingual household and have spoken all three languages fluently since childhood. I hold a B.A. in Education Sciences and a Master's Degree in Psychology, and I’ve spent the past several years helping students of all ages—from elementary school kids to adult learners—develop their confidence and fluency in these languages.

My teaching experience includes one-on-one tutoring both in person and online, where I’ve worked with students to improve conversational skills, pronunciation, vocabulary, and cultural understanding. I’ve also volunteered in community language programs where I supported immigrant families and children in learning English as well as retaining their heritage language. I use a student-centered and interactive approach, tailoring each lesson to the learner’s goals and interests—whether it’s casual conversation, academic enrichment, or travel preparation.

My students describe me as approachable, patient, and encouraging. I firmly believe that language learning should be fun, engaging, and culturally relevant. With a deep understanding of how challenging it can be to learn multiple languages, I strive to create a safe and supportive space for my students to take risks, ask questions, and grow their skills with confidence.
