I lead a research team at UCI developing machine learning tools to speed up data processing in longevity research. With 5 years of programming experience using Python, Java, and Julia, I will be able to help you master the foundations of basic coding, focusing on building your computational thinking skills so you can tackle complex problems in any language.
I received my CLAP Tutoring Certification from UCI in 2023, which focuses on techniques for guiding students to discover the right answers, rather than lecturing at them. As such, my teaching style involves first making sure there are no large gaps in understanding of the core principles of a topic, then helping a student reason through the finer details to build not just subject matter knowledge, but critical thinking.
As an on-campus tutor, I have assisted many college students in the introductory biology courses at UCI. I worked directly with students needing hands-on assistance, and led rooms of 10-30 students routinely. Throughout my studies at UCI I have received straight As, including in Organic Chemistry and Physics, and am well-equipped to guide prospective pre-med and pre-research students through their high school science classes. I can coach you to earn a 5 on the Biology, Chemistry, CompSci, and Calculus AP Exams, as well as prepare you for the SAT, on which I earned a 1570/1600.
