My name is Luke! I am currently a student at the University of California, Santa Barbara pursuing my passion in Pre-Economics. Talking from my past 3 years of tutoring experience ever since I was in high school, I often see myself being very enthusiastic about teaching students. At first, I believed that these emotions came from the fact that I am familiar enough with a certain topic to the point where I can teach other people with precision. However, I realized I was wrong when I was also lecturing my students on something I wasn't very confident about. Instead, the main reason for the happiness came from my students feeling genuine satisfaction from what they are trying to learn and overcome their difficulties.
While tutoring, my ultimate objective is to show students how fun learning can be and how rewarding it is to prevail over things that they fear they won't be able to achieve. Due to family circumstances, coming to the United States in the 2nd semester of my freshman year forced me to begin my academic journey relatively later than other students may have. Amidst the struggle, getting tutored by someone who specialized in my hardest fields always helped me a lot, both academically and emotionally.
I want my students to benefit from my tutoring as much as I did with my tutors. With my experience, I can prepare resources and practice problems that focus on what students may struggle with, and provide meticulous pathways to lead them to face obstacles more efficiently. I am open to any potential modifications regarding my resources and schedules. Please feel free to contact me if there are any additional questions about myself!
