Hello! My name is Riyaz and I am an Applied Math major at UC Berkeley. From a young age, I found math to be my favorite subject because I could apply its fundamental concepts towards solving real-world problems. In high school, I loved learning about Trigonometry and Calculus! I scored 5s on the AP tests for AP Calc AB and AP Calc BC. In college, I excelled in Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. In order to spread my knowledge across my students, I have developed unique, personalized lesson plans to guide students through the logic of math. I will break down the teachings of reputable textbooks in order to allow my students to fully understand the topics. I will also use several textbook problems, ranging in all difficulties, in order to provide a full spectrum for a single topic. I will also use time at the end to give students time to practice and ask individual questions in an open, friendly environment.
In my previous tutoring experience, I taught elementary level math for 3 years to a small group of students. I have recently begun teaching college level math to other students at Berkeley to prepare them for the complexity of final exams. I will ensure that every student in my class will not only improve their mathematical abilities, but also become confident to take risks and unlock their true potential! And, of course, I encourage my students to email me outside the class session in order to gain extra help!
