I'm an undergraduate student at UC Irvine majoring in Computer Science and previously interned as a Software Engineer at Meta. I'm an undergraduate student at UC Irvine majoring in Computer Science and previously interned as a Software Engineer at Meta. I have extensive experience tutoring STEM related subjects such as Algebra, AP Physics 1, AP Computer Science A, and AP Computer Science Principles. Having coached many students to earn As in their AP classes, I've developed a tutoring approach that emphasizes individualized learning plans for each student in order to target areas for growth. Each lesson is tailored to your specific needs, whether it be homework help, direct instruction to clarify certain topics, or exam preparation. In my lessons, I provide students with a conceptual understanding of the subject they're learning so they have the confidence to apply it to new scenarios that they have not seen before. This is especially important in subjects like Physics and Chemistry, which contain topics that build on each other as students progress through the year. I am patient and understanding when it comes to grasping new topics, and I am always open to feedback and constructive criticism.

As for my academic qualifications, I've taken Advanced Placement Examinations (AP) for Calculus BC, Physics 1, Computer Science A, and Computer Science Principles, and scored a 5 on each, which is the highest score possible. I'm also a National Merit Finalist, having scored in the top 99th percentile for the PSAT examination that I took in my Junior year.

I was also the President of my high school's Technology Club, where I taught club members programming concepts in JavaScript and Python. I also created two project-based workshop articles for Hack Club, a global community of high school programmers.

I've interned at Meta as a Software Engineer and had to go through a rigorous interview process, including technical (algorithms and data structures) and behavioral rounds. I've also received a Software Engineer internship offer from Goldman Sachs, where I also went through technical and behavioral rounds. I applied to over 300 companies in 2024 for internships to sharpen my interview preparation skills, and have seen a wide range of behavioral interview questions that require thorough preparation to pass. I can help with both SWE-technical interviews as well as any generic behavioral interviews that you are preparing for.

Easy to understand and always prepared.

Shayan has been helping my son (10th grader) prepare in advance for his Physics class. He’s a bit behind in the Math necessary for the lessons. Shayan has been ready with examples and lessons to teach him what he needs to know to better understand the class lessons and assignments. He makes the work easy for my son to understand.
