Hi! I'm Ethan, and I'm currently a college senior studying electrical engineering at UCLA.
As an electrical engineer, I strive to sharpen my toolkit in the subjects that are most fundamental to the field -- math, physics, and computer science. Being able to communicate technical information to a variety of different audiences means a lot to me, which is why I've become passionate about teaching and tutoring since high school. Just like the teachers that made me fall in love with these subjects, I strive to present material the same way they did -- building a concept-first approach with intuition and analogies, followed by the mathematical and logical reasoning to back it up.
My previous teaching experiences have enabled me to teach a wide variety of demographics. In high school, I volunteered to help elementary and middle school students with their homework. Since, I've been a private tutor for high school math and physics for the last 2 years, and before that, I worked as a part-time coding instructor teaching elementary and middle school students programming fundamentals through game design. As a former outreach coordinator and current tutoring chair for my college clubs, I've also led workshops and hosted events presenting engineering concepts to fellow university students. I've fortunately had to opportunity to speak with and connect with all types of students, and I enjoy tailoring my approach with different students every single time.
If you're looking for exam prep, I can help with that too! I received a perfect score on the SAT and earned 5s in the following AP exams: Calculus BC, Computer Science A, and all four Physics exams.
