Accent Reduction

I'm a certified American accent coach and I know how it feels to be so advanced in a language, and yet the words out of your mouth just don't sound as good as they did in your head. How do I know? I'm bilingual in English and Spanish and have studied my second language for years. However, by the time I was finishing college, I had developed an accent when speaking Spanish. I worked with a specialist to reduce it to the point where now, no one can place my accent at all when I speak it. This is the gift I want to give to you! In my sessions, I use a proven method to help you make permanent changes to your speech habits when you speak English. I identify the specific sounds you need to work on and teach you exactly how to make those sounds – even if they don’t exist in your native language! Then, I teach you how to hear and identify the sound and use it yourself in context when you speak. We will build up your ability to produce the target sounds until you’re able to produce them in conversation, naturally. I make a personalized, step-by-step plan for every student. I offer targeted practice and immediate, in-the-moment feedback that you can’t get from YouTube or an app so you can train your ear, mouth, and brain to make some big, permanent changes to your accent in a shorter amount of time. I've taught language for well over a decade to everyone from beginner to advanced. My approach is communicative, so I focus on meaningful and effective use of English in real-life conversations and contexts. I've studied language acquisition principles for years and was even hired by a large school district in Southern California to create trainings and provide resources and coaching to all of its World Languages teachers. As my student, I'll support you in using your English from the very first lesson and learning to better express yourself every day through meaningful interaction in the language. Interview Prep

I have over 13 years of experience coaching ambitious people just like you to best present your personality, skills, talents, and experiences in interviews. I've coached everyone: high school students before their admissions interviews, college students just starting out in their careers, established professionals who want to make a change, and even adults who learned English later in life and are now ready to level up. Personal Statements

I'm a former high school teacher and college counselor specializing in helping students prepare powerful personal statements that WOW college admissions offices. I've been helping students prepare strong college admissions essays since 2009. During my time as a college counselor at a private school in Southern California, I had the privilege of helping all seniors get their personal statements out on paper, from the first brainstorming session all the way to getting their acceptance letters in the mail. During my time as a college counselor, our students earned millions of dollars in merit scholarships because of their talents, skills, and personal qualities -- and how they were able to put all of that into words on their college applications! If you or your child are struggling to get the ideas out, staring at a blank page, overwhelmed with stress, and dreaming of the day all the essays are done and sent out to your college list... I'd love to help! After teaching thousands of high school students myself throughout my career, I have excellent rapport with high school students and have so much passion and energy for what I do.
