I have a bachelors degree in Math-Computer Science from UCSD & a Master’s degree in Computer science from UCI. I am currently a 4th year PhD student in the CS department, where my research focuses on graphical models in Artificial Intelligence. I have 10+ years experience as a private tutor, and 6+ years of TA’ing. The majority of classes I teach at University level are discrete math, algorithms, AI courses, and theoretical computer science. I love exploring the intersection of computer science and mathematics.
My strength is teaching how to reason about difficult concepts and why things work, instead of memorizing a process; this way students can have an idea how to approach new problems. I don't believe you need to be "naturally smart" or inclined to be successful in STEM subjects, and my goal is to make this material more accessible to everyone. I have taught a very diverse range of students, from elementary school to college students, and in a wide array of settings, from 200+ student lectures to one on one tutoring. My broad range of experience has taught me how to tailor my explanations to the unique individual. Therefore, my students find me easy to communicate with and feel more open to asking questions.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions, and I look forward to helping you!
