I hold a B.S. in Biochemistry from Loyola Marymount University and a M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Creighton University, along with an active California teaching credential. Over the past 8+ years, I've taught middle school science, with a focus on physical science, earth and space science, and life science. Alongside secondary science, I also tutor elementary, junior high, and some high school level math, as science and math often go hand in hand.

My 8 years of classroom experience have given me a deep understanding of how students in grade 5-8 learn, where they tend to struggle, and how to break down complex ideas into something manageable and clear. I've worked with students across a wide range of ability levels and learning styles, which has shaped my approach into one that's flexible and driven by student needs.
At the core of my teaching philosophy is a belief in building confidence by learning from mistakes. I try to create real opportunities for growth and understanding, guiding students toward their own "aha" moments rather than just handing them the answer. I want them to walk away not just with a better grasp of the material, but with the tools and confidence to tackle new problems on their own, and being okay with some productive struggle. Errors are not failures, but are an essential part of the learning process. What matters most to me is that a student is trying their best, and I am confident that learning will always follow.
It is my hope to bring patience, kindness, and a genuine investment in each student's growth into each tutoring session. I am excited to be a helpful hand on any student’s learning journey!
