I am Kenneth, a passionate musician whose journey began at the tender age of 8, inspired by the story of The Trumpet and the Swan. This early connection to music propelled me to obtain a B.A. in Music Performance from Morehouse College, where I specialized in Trumpet under the guidance of Melvin Jones. My time at Morehouse allowed me to thrive as a member of the House of Funk Marching Band, Symphonic Concert Band, and Jazz Orchestra, all directed by the esteemed Dr. Chad E. Hughes.

Chad E. Hughes.
Recently, I completed my Master of Music in Trumpet Performance at UCLA, studying under mentors Jens Lindemann, Keyon Harrold, and Dan Rosenboom. While at UCLA, I participated in several ensembles, including the Philharmonia and the Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble, and authored research on the confluences of Classical and Jazz music.
Born and raised in Inglewood, California, I honed my skills at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts, contributing to award-winning jazz bands. My efforts were recognized when Hamilton's Jazz Ensemble A became finalists at the Monterey Next Generation Festival in 2018. Additionally, I was honored as a "Grammy Emerging Artist" by the Grammy Foundation in 2016 and 2017 and participated in the Monk Institute/LAUSD's Beyond the Bell All-City Jazz Big Band.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of collaborating with renowned artists such as John Mayer, Chloe x Halle, and Andra Day, performing on prestigious stages like the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Staples Center. My appearances include The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards and NBC's The Voice. In 2020, I launched the Front Yard Groove (FYG) series, organizing socially distanced concerts in Inglewood and Los Angeles during the pandemic.
