Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile! I have been teaching for 28 years and truly love helping students of all ages discover their potential. I earned my California Clear Single Subject Credential in English in 1997 and have been teaching ever since. I also hold a Master's Degree in Interpersonal Communication with an emphasis in Intercultural Communication, which has given me a deep understanding of how people learn, communicate, and connect across diverse backgrounds. Throughout my career, I have taught both middle school and high school students, as well as tutored children, teens, college students, and adults. My experience includes working with native English speakers and English learners (ESL/ELD), allowing me to adapt my instruction to meet the unique needs of every student.

In addition to my classroom experience, I have tutored consistently throughout my teaching career, helping students improve their reading, writing, grammar, public speaking, study skills, and overall confidence. I believe that learning should be engaging, encouraging, and personalized. Every student has different strengths, challenges, and goals, so I take the time to get to know each learner before designing lessons that fit their individual needs. My teaching philosophy is student-centered and collaborative. I gradually release responsibility as students gain confidence and independence, giving them the tools they need to become successful learners both inside and outside of our tutoring sessions. In my experience, motivation is often the key to academic success, so I work hard to make learning meaningful, relevant, and enjoyable.

Beyond academics, I bring a wide range of real-world experience to my tutoring. As a former NCAA Division I volleyball player and high school coach for both boys' and girls' volleyball, I understand the importance of discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and goal setting. I have also studied yoga for more than 20 years and enjoy helping students develop balance, focus, and confidence that extend
