Hi, I'm Gwen! I am currently studying at University of California San Diego and on course to graduate in 2026 with three Bachelors of Science in the areas of computer science, cognitive science (specialized in machine learning), and mathematics (specialized in applied science). I have a passion for learning, and I've found that that only grows when an instructor is intent on their students' education. Hence, although I study many things, my favorite area is in linguistics (the field of my minor) since the teachers are absolutely magnificent.
I have been employed by my university's computer science department as a tutor for basic coding courses for two years, and I volunteered as an instructional assistant for a cognitive science course as well. In these roles, I was expected to give lectures and lead lab sections (consisting of 30 to 60 students) as well as to offer one on one help with students. Additionally, both my Silver and Gold Awards for Girl Scouts had to do with teaching: My Silver Award had to do with elementary school children and honing reading skills while my Gold Award involved teaching on natural disaster preparedness.
