As a legal education administrator, professor, and career dream facilitator for 14 years for AA, BA, MA and JD students, I have taught over 120 unique courses in law, criminal justice, business, and test prep (bar and baby bar exams, LSAT) - including updating 21 curricula, and creating 9 courses. I have a BA (with all but thesis for the MA) from UC Irvine in Criminology, Law and Society, an MBA in Human Resources from Daniel Webster University, a USC LLM in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a JD from Loyola Law School Los Angeles.

Before becoming an Academic Success Dean at an online hybrid law school, I was a dual program chair over paralegal studies/criminal justice/forensics and business/project management for a private undergraduate university - I loved teaching both online and onsite kinesthetic learners. I helped the Gen Ed department move the needle from below 40% to 84% using some onsite support labs. Eventually, I became an academic success dean at an online hybrid law school where I had been teaching as an adjunct and curriculum designer/updater, expanding educational access to legal educations/careers for diverse students. Highlights included raising the Baby Bar outcomes to approx. 5 times the state pass rate in 2022 and creating a CA bar exam essay/PT writing series from scratch that improved pass rates by 17%!
I enjoy practicing law but my superhero skill is helping students with writing, pre-law, law and bar essay and performance test skills.

Bar Exam

Bar Exam

I am licensed to practice law in CA and NY, and have taught law, criminal justice and business subjects for 13 years at 2 law schools, becoming the Associate Dean of Academic Success at ALU SOL over 4 years ago, where I designed our CBX Last Stretch Written Bar Exam Workshop. In 2019 I served on the Cal. State Bar CAPA Committee Work Group, which made recommendations to the State Bar's Blue Ribbon Committee re: changes coming to the exam in 2028, and also serve as a dean question vetter for the Baby Bar Exam, drawing on experience teaching 120 different law courses, designing 9 curricula, 20 years of practice experience, and having helped dozens of students through the bumpy 1L year to excel in law school!
Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice

Before becoming an attorney, mediator, and law school dean/professor, I was a criminologist, specializing in white-collar crime research and environmental crime. For 4 years before the current law school academic success dean role, I was a criminal justice program chair at an undergraduate university in Torrance, CA, teaching criminal justice and forensic technology.

Enjoyed working with you on a few legal memos so far, integrating your briefed cases to the optimum elements of the arguments, and finetuning bluebooking of citations!

Wonderful, Patient Teacher

Lydia is so sweet and clearly explains everything. I’m taking the LSAT soon and she squeezed me in on the same day I asked her for a meeting. In the meeting, it was apparent that she has such a breadth of knowledge and resources, so I was so glad to work with her.

Excellent Guidance

Lydia was patient, understanding, and ready for the challenge. Although my computer had technical issues, it didn't deter us from working on my legal writing, and she answered all my questions accordingly. Thanks to her guidance, it was clear and thorough.

Knowledgeable and good teacher!

Very patient and good at clarifying issues that I was having trouble with. Awesome tutor! We had some technical difficulties but she pushed through and I feel the session went well. She provided me with some resources and helped me with a subject I was having trouble with. I will definitely use her again soon.

Enjoyed working with you on some very sophisticated bar exam-level Con Law hypothetical! As an employment and civil rights attorney, con law is one of my favorite subjects to assist students with. Great written effort on your part to prep prior to our meeting - you are on the right track. Happy to collaborate soon.
