My name is Nicole W. I am a fifth grade teacher in Hollister. I grew up in Hollister, and love my hometown. My passion for teaching stemmed from my passion for others. I have a degree in Psychology, as well as a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. My passion for helping people, more specifically helping children, comes from the understanding that the minds of children are so capable of achieving more than they could ever imagine.
I believe that every child is capable of achieving success. I also believe that many children are academically falling behind in particular subjects in school. This may be due to challenging curriculum, fast paced instruction, or a culmination of other elements. Nonetheless, children deserve the opportunity to do their best to succeed. Provided with the right tools for success and the additional support they need, children can and will become successful.
As a teacher, I have experience teaching Math, Reading and Writing. I will teach strategies which follow curriculum, as well as quick thinking tips, tricks and strategies to approach learning.
One of my passions is in reading and writing. The more access one gets to read, the more knowledgeable one becomes. Similarly with writing, it takes practice. Reading and writing are not something learned overnight. They take many practice attempts, and continued dedication.
