Hello all! I'm Phyllis, a web and video game programmer that's been in the coding space for over 10 years. I got my bachelor's degree in Computer Science back in 2015 at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. During my time in school, I created some small video games and also focused in databases, namely MySQL. I combined my art skills with my programming skills to bring games to life.
Since then, I've worked in the tech industry, creating and maintaining websites for eCommerce companies like The Clymb, creating a meditation app called Balance, and overseeing the website for an anime convention called FanimeCon. After 6 years in the industry, I went into teaching, and I currently instruct students ages 7-17 through Black Girls Code (BGC). I have been teaching with BGC for about 3 years now, utilizing Zoom for our classes. I have taught students to create projects in Javascript, Python, HTML, and more!
