A Little About Me:
Hi! My name is Miss Alicia. I graduated in May 2020 from the University of Southern California Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Biology with a minor in Musical Theatre. I have 5+ years experience with tutoring high school Spanish and being a private English and Math tutor, as well as teaching basic Human Anatomy classes for K-5. I have a unique perspective due to my background in many different areas, including academia, the arts, and sports. My diverse experiences allow me to understand the needs of my students and be able to tailor our lessons to account for their particular learning weaknesses and strengths.

(note: these are only examples, as each student is unique and I adapt my technique to what the student responds to. This just gives you an idea of the principles I consider when tutoring.)

H.S./College level Tutoring: One of my educational beliefs is that doing well on a test is not just knowing the material. In my experience, that accounts for about 50% of any score you get on a test. The other 50% is determined by your general logic and reasoning skills, your study skills, and your test taking skills. I take all of these areas into consideration during my tutoring sessions so that you are as prepared as possible for anything a test throws at you.

Elementary/Middle School Tutoring: With these students, I make it a priority to update the parents/guardians regularly with a child's progress. In these messages, I might mention any gaps I've observed in their knowledge and provide ideas to practice these skills outside of our lessons.
