Hi! My name is Miss Alicia, and I’m passionate about helping students gain confidence and clarity in their learning. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a minor in Musical Theatre.
I have over nine years of tutoring experience, working with students in Spanish, English, and Math, as well as teaching basic Human Anatomy to K–5 learners. My background across multiple disciplines—academics, the arts, and sports—allows me to take a well-rounded and personalized approach to tutoring. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their individual strengths, challenges, and goals.
My Tutoring Approach
For high school and college students, I believe success comes from more than just knowing the material. In my experience, about half of a student’s performance on a test depends on study habits, logical reasoning, and test-taking strategies. During sessions, I focus on all these aspects alongside the academic material, so my students feel prepared and confident in any testing situation.
For elementary and middle school students, I make consistent communication a priority. I provide parents and guardians with regular progress updates and offer suggestions for at-home practice to help reinforce key skills and encourage steady growth.*
My Teaching Philosophy
I aim to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to challenge themselves. My goal is not only to help students understand the material but also to equip them with tools to become independent, lifelong learners.
