My name is Kim and I have been tutoring for approximately 4 years now. I began tutoring by volunteering as a tutor at the Hemet Adult Literacy Program working with adults with many different reading issues, such as compression, retention, and reading skills. Many of my adult learners struggled with basic reading and so I was able to help them reach their goals of improving their reading skills so they may be able to function in society. I also taught math twice a week at the program in a classroom setting assisting adult learners in many differing levels of math.
I continued to tutor by becoming a tutor for two organizations that work with school districts to assist in improving students reading comprehension, retention, skills, and mathematics. I have been very successful and have been able to increase students reading & math scores by as much as 3 levels, and enjoy a very good relationship with many of the parents who request me every year. I enjoy tutoring because I love to learn and I want my students to love it as much as I and try to encourage them by telling them that every challenge they encounter is a challenge they can meet and that they can be anything they dream of as long as they work hard and never give up.
I hope that both parents and students will contact me and at least give me the opportunity to see how well I interact with the students and that they have a tutor who understands their struggles and want to be able to be one of those people who wants them to learn that challenges are not there to discourage but to build character, tenacity, and self esteem. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Look forward to hearing from you. My name is Kim and I have been tutoring for approximately 4 years now. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been tutoring for 4 years and have tutored children starting at the kindergarten level all the way to high school. I have tutored students with issues in reading comprehension, reading skills, reading retention, spelling, grammar, elementary math all the way to high school level mathematics. I have had students who have had issues in reading and low scores whom after 10 weeks of tutoring with me, have seen an increase in reading scores of 30% to 50%. I have a graduate level education & a commitment to helping students succeed in school and to hopefully inspire them to reach for their dreams and to help them realize how important education is when it comes to having a successful life.
