Few things matter more to me than education - and after 15 years working with students, that conviction has only grown stronger.

I hold a BA in History and Political Science, an MA in Education, and a Teaching Credential with experience teaching grades 6-12 in both public and private schools. Few things matter more to me than education - and after 15 years working with students, that conviction has only grown stronger.

I hold a BA in History and Political Science, an MA in Education, and a Teaching Credential with experience teaching grades 6-12 in both public and private schools. After seeing firsthand how the classroom system can fail individual students, I've committed to helping students one-on-one or in small group tutoring, where I can actually meet each student where they are.
Over the years, I've supported homeschool families across grades K-12, and I'm also a trained life coach with over 1000 client hours. Academic struggles are rarely just academic - confidence and mindset matter just as much as content knowledge, and I'm equipped to address both.

Today I work virtually with middle school, high school, and college-level students in navigating History, Math, and Philosophy, as well as helping them understand the work with their natural gifts and struggles to find the academic and personal success they seek. My goal is simple: students leave our sessions not just knowing more, but feeling more capable and confident.

Outside of work, I love to garden, read, and fish, and with homeschooling 6 kids, along with my wife, there is never a dull moment.

Bible Studies

Bible Studies

This is an area of great interest to me. So much so that religion was my minor in college. During my time in school I took seven religion classes at a private Christian University. I thoroughly enjoy the topic and have read through the Bible twice. Serious study of the Bible and theology in there historical contexts is an ongoing hobby of mine. If you have any questions regarding my knowledge or theology please feel free to email me via Wyzant and I will be more then happy to address your question.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have extensive experience working with younger students. While taking education classes I did 20 hours of "observation" in a second grade after school program. While there I assisted students with homework as well as aided the regular instructor in other areas. I have also worked with students as young as six, helping them in both reading and writing as well as math and science. In addition to the above mentioned I have worked in various areas with 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders at various times in all areas of study. Generally for this age group I like to provide homework help. However I will focus on a specific area of study if that is what the student requires.
Geometry

Geometry

It was tutoring geometry for and independent study high school which led me to make the decision to become a teacher. I love helping students to understand a subject which we often use without even knowing it. Oftentimes geometry is intimidating to people but I do not believe that it has to be we just need to look at it a little differently and then it will all make sense.
Political Science

Political Science

I hold a BA in History and Political Science and have done a semester's worth of teaching in 12th-grade government class
Religion

Religion

My minor in my undergrad was religion. As a teacher I spent my first two years teaching Apologetics as well as Church History and World Religion, both of which were UC approved courses. Additionally, I am currently attending Talbot Theological Seminary which requires courses in theology, biblical studies, as well as comparative religions.
Social Studies

I received a BA in History and Political Science from Vanguard University with a minor in Religion. I also hold MA in Education in the single subject area of social studies. I enjoy the field of Social Studies and have taught World History, Ancient History, US History, and Church History / World Religions.
