During the past fifteen years, I was employed by the Fremont Unified School District. I taught almost exclusively third grade in two diverse schools. I had the opportunity to teach gifted students for the past ten years. My cross cultural teaching was enhanced when teaching at a School on the Navajo Reservation. These two teaching experiences give me a wide variety of knowledge to be an effective tutor for a variety of elementary students.
My education has been unusual. I worked at Friends World College in their library and assisted with student internships. Our campuses were located on five continents. My undergraduate education at the College at Old Westbury included students and faculty from many nations. We were the first college in the United States to include oral history in its curriculum. I welcome the chance to help children in my community with tutoring.
