I am a UCLA student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Society with a 4.0 GPA. My coursework includes cell and molecular biology, genetics, physiology, general and organic chemistry, and biostatistics. I was also an AP Scholar in high school, earning scores of 5 on seven AP exams and 4 on four AP exams.
In addition to my coursework, I work as a research assistant in a UCLA cardiovascular laboratory, where I perform RNA extraction, Western blots, tissue harvesting, and cell culture. This experience has strengthened my understanding of biology and chemistry by allowing me to apply concepts from the classroom to real scientific research.
I also co-founded Reading Partners at UCLA, an organization that provides one-on-one tutoring to elementary school students. I helped recruit and support more than 30 UCLA volunteers and coordinate approximately 40 weekly tutoring sessions. Working with younger students has taught me how to explain unfamiliar material patiently, break complicated problems into manageable steps, and adjust my approach to each student’s learning style.
Please contact me with the student’s course level, current topics, and goals so that I can prepare an effective first lesson. I look forward to helping students become more confident and successful in their classes.
