Hi!
My name is Sadie Godfrey and I am a current Environmental Sciences student at UC Berkeley. Throughout high school, I adored working with kids and would love to continue the tradition. I worked as a cabin leader at outdoor school for 5th graders, was a teachers assistant at a summer camp, and taught swim lessons at the YMCA! In swim lessons I worked with ages between 3 and 13, so I have experience with all kinds of learning abilities and strategies. Most importantly, I knew how to make lessons fun. Additionally, I gained experience with all sorts of learning styles in that job, especially with kids on the spectrum or with focus difficulties.
Academically, I feel confident teaching a wide variety of subjects. In high school I worked hard, graduating valedictorian and taking many advanced classes. Therefore, I feel confident tutoring many high school students, including AP classes, along with elementary and middle school kids. From my prior teaching experience, and even helping friends through homework, I feel my biggest strength is understanding the root of the misunderstanding and addressing it, rather than having students memorize certain concepts or formulas without proper context or understanding. Unless students are in the Berkeley area (where I could meet in person), I would like to get into online tutoring and create an experience that is most useful to you or your student.
