Hi! I’m Owen, a fourth-year mathematics major at the University of California, Santa Barbara, on track to earn my Single-Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics in 2026. Over the past four years I’ve tutored K-12 students in Algebra 1 / Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, and even upper-division Linear Algebra, and I currently serve as a student-teacher for 7th and 8th-grade math at La Colina Junior High in Santa Barbara.

I believe there is no such thing as a “math person” versus a “non-math person.” Guided by growth-mindset research, I meet learners where they are and coach them toward goals they once thought impossible. My signature “perfect practice” approach provides just enough scaffolding for students to discover their own aha! moments—building genuine confidence instead of quick fixes.

In the age of ChatGPT and other AI tools, my mission is for students to leave each session with understanding that is deep, intuitive, and transferable, not “wide as an ocean but deep as a puddle.” Whether you need to master polynomial factoring, conquer trigonometric identities, or visualize eigenvectors, I’m ready to help you turn math into a skill set you can trust.
