Undergraduate Math Student with Extensive K-12 Tutoring Experience

Diana A.

Hi! My name is Diana and I am currently a 2nd year mathematics and philosophy student at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I worked at a mathnasium, a math tutoring center franchise, for over two years. Here, I delivered comprehensive math instruction to K-12 students through one-on-one and group tutoring in subject areas ranging from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus. I graduated high school with a International Baccalaureate Diploma with a 4.6 GPA and received a 6 on the IB Math Analysis and Approaches HL Exam as well as an 800 on the SAT math section.

My tutoring philosophy rests on the grounds that challenges we face in math, and any subject matter, should be valued for their ability to make us better critical thinkers and motivated to succeed. At mathnasium, I would consistently remind my students keep working through their struggles, as doing so will make them stronger students.

I aim to help my students as much as possible, aiding them with any assignments or exams they may have and answering questions in between tutoring sessions as needed. I am easy to reach and quick to respond, feel free to contact me to schedule a lesson or ask any questions!
