I have a great deal of successful experiences tutoring as well as classroom experience with ages from preschool through grade 8 in Math, Reading, English, Social Studies, Science, History, Geography, Writing, and Music teaching guitar and the recorder. I design customized curriculum for each student and work from their school texts. I am a cartoonist and illustrate small workbooks using the vocabulary words on which we have worked. I am fun and entertaining while being a very effective teacher.

Do you want your three-year-old to begin to learn to read? Do you want you second grader to excel past the second grade level? Is your child a year or two behind his or her grade level? I can, and have, been extremely successful in remedial education where I can get those that are behind up to grade level and I can assist your child to move ahead in learning levels to one or two grades above.

I have been teaching for more than 25 years in most every grade including preschool and adult education. I hold vocational credentials in food management for the restaurant industry in which I have taught classes. I also hold a substitute teaching credential for Special Education ans have worked with autistic children and emotional disturbed children.

In addition, I have worked with exceptionally advanced children working at 3 and 4 years above grade level with great success.

I have had many years of experience in illustrating technical manuals. I have taught Art for 4 years in a 6th grade classroom and 2 years in 7th and 8th grade classrooms. I illustrate children's stories as a teaching tool for them in learning their vocabulary words 2 or 3 times a week at this time.

I have successfully taught children the skills to "sound out" words while learning the rules of phonic in English. I am quite familiar with the teaching of all of the rules: double vowels, silent E, consonant blends, etc.

Knowledgable, patient, and fun tutor!

Today was my 1st graders first lesson with John and she had a blast! She learned a lot and was very comfortable. She had so much fun. We are looking forward to future lessons! She really is enjoying learning with him.
