I hold a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisville. I began tutoring in college and now have 15+ years experience teaching Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, and college-level Calculus 1-3. My favorite subject is Calculus and I got a 5 on the AP test when I took it myself.

I've worked with traditional and returning students, so I know how important it is to fill in any gaps in foundational knowledge in addition to the material currently being learned in class.

I believe there is more than one way to explain math concepts so that if a student doesn't grasp the way it is presented in class, I can find an alternate way of explaining it. Math doesn't have to be the daunting subject many think it is; it can even be fun!

I love tutoring Calculus best, whether it's AP Calc AB or BC, or college Calculus. It's the culmination of all the math classes that have come before, and also requires critical thinking in order to solve the more complex problems. I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus AB test while in high school and then took three additional Calculus classes in college while pursuing my Engineering degree.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus can be a challenging class because there so many diverse topics that don't build on each other the way math often does. Breaking down the material into easy-to-understand pieces that can be assembled into the full concept really helps to make Precalculus less daunting.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I have helped many students who have struggled with Trigonometry. It can require a slightly different method of approaching the class since Trig topics don't always build on each other the same way Algebra topics do. Teaching students to look for patterns rather than rote memorization of a large amount of material can make Trigonometry easier to deal with.

Couldn't have passed my Calc 2 class without her

I took an accelerated Calc 2 class over the summer at my university after not taking any math for 3 years. She is the reason I got an A (for reference I got a C+ in Calc 1)!! Math is so overwhelming to me and she made it so simple and was so amazing and patient with any questions I had. Best math tutor I've ever had.
