I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Southern California, where I completed extensive coursework in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, and physiology. I currently work as a medical scribe at City of Hope, gaining daily exposure to clinical medicine and reinforcing my understanding of core science concepts in real world settings. This academic and clinical background allows me to tutor biology and chemistry with both depth and practical relevance, especially for students preparing for exams or pursuing healthcare related paths.
My teaching experience spans approximately two years as a varsity basketball coach, where I worked closely with students ages 14 to 18. Coaching helped me develop strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to explain concepts clearly to teens with different learning styles and levels of motivation. In addition to coaching, I have provided one on one tutoring for my younger brother and several of his peers in subjects ranging from Algebra 1 and AP History to chemistry and biology. These sessions were personalized and focused on identifying gaps in understanding and building confidence through guided practice.
As a tutor, I prioritize concept mastery rather than rote memorization. I break down complex topics into simple, intuitive explanations and use real life analogies, visuals, and step by step problem solving to help students truly grasp the material. Having faced academic challenges myself earlier in my education, I bring empathy and structure to my sessions and focus on helping students develop effective study habits and confidence that extend beyond a single class or exam.
