Hi, I'm Alex! I graduated from Anderson W. Clark Magnet High School, a nationally recognized California Distinguished School known for its STEM focus and academic rigor. While maintaining a 4.3 GPA as a student-athlete, I developed strong time management skills, accountability, and a disciplined work ethic which are qualities I bring into every tutoring session.
Currently, I attend Glendale Community College, majoring in biology on a pre-med track. I’ve been accepted to UC Irvine, Berkeley, UCLA, and USC, and will be most likely transferring to UCLA this fall.
My tutoring journey spans over five years. I began as a summer school teacher’s assistant for 6th to 8th graders in a district program for two years, where I learned the importance of following structured curricula and maintaining daily consistency with an agenda. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I shifted to online tutoring through Kadama Inc. for two years, helping high school students (10th–12th grade) using digital tools like slideshows, collaborative editing, and virtual whiteboards. For the past year, I’ve been tutoring in-person again, now expanding to include college-level students. This most recent experience has helped me learn how to adjust my sessions to fit each student’s unique learning style, something I didn’t have as much freedom to do in more structured programs such as the summer experience. I believe successful tutoring requires more than subject knowledge. It’s about clarity, patience, adaptability, and connection.
