Hi, I'm Alex! I graduated from Anderson W. Clark Magnet High School, a nationally recognized California Distinguished School known for its STEM focus and academic rigor. While maintaining a 4.3 GPA as a student-athlete, I developed strong time management skills, accountability, and a disciplined work ethic which are qualities I bring into every tutoring session.

Currently, I attend Glendale Community College, majoring in biology on a pre-med track. I’ve been accepted to UC Irvine, Berkeley, UCLA, and USC, and will be most likely transferring to UCLA this fall.

My tutoring journey spans over five years. I began as a summer school teacher’s assistant for 6th to 8th graders in a district program for two years, where I learned the importance of following structured curricula and maintaining daily consistency with an agenda. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I shifted to online tutoring through Kadama Inc. for two years, helping high school students (10th–12th grade) using digital tools like slideshows, collaborative editing, and virtual whiteboards. For the past year, I’ve been tutoring in-person again, now expanding to include college-level students. This most recent experience has helped me learn how to adjust my sessions to fit each student’s unique learning style, something I didn’t have as much freedom to do in more structured programs such as the summer experience. I believe successful tutoring requires more than subject knowledge. It’s about clarity, patience, adaptability, and connection.

Chemistry

Chemistry

I help students understand chemistry by explaining ideas in a clear and simple way. I’ve worked with many learners to improve their grades and confidence in topics like atoms, molecules, chemical reactions, acids and bases, and the periodic table. I focus on step-by-step teaching, real-life examples, and building strong study habits. Whether you’re just starting out or preparing for an exam, I adjust my lessons to fit your level and learning style.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I make math easier and less stressful for young students by explaining it in simple steps. I passed the Elementary Math Exam, which includes topics like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and basic word problems. I have experience helping K–6 students build confidence and improve their skills through fun practice and clear examples. My goal is to help each child understand math in a way that makes sense to them and to make learning feel rewarding.
Elementary Science

Elementary Science

I specialize in making science approachable and exciting for elementary students by breaking down complex concepts into simple, hands-on lessons. I recently passed the Elementary Science Certification Exam, demonstrating mastery across key topics like life science, Earth and space systems, and basic physical principles. I bring prior experience working with K-6 learners in both 1-on-1 and group formats, focusing on real-world connections. Whether your child is preparing for a standardized test or needs support mastering classroom material, I tailor each session to their pace and learning style.
Water Polo

Water Polo

As a former Junior Olympic water polo player, I competed at the highest youth level and helped my team, ORWP, finish 12th in the nation in the Platinum Division. I bring years of high-level playing experience and deep knowledge of the game, being a student of the great Kevin Witt. I focus on helping athletes build strong fundamentals, game awareness, and confidence in the pool. Whether you’re new to water polo or preparing for competitive play, I tailor sessions to fit your goals and skill level.
