I’m excited about empowering people of all ages to feel confident in their writing, whether that’s a college essay, a cover letter, a novel, or something else entirely. I’m interested in making the college application experience stress-free while hyping up my students, honoring their hard work, and tossing in a self-care strategy or two. I love cracking jokes, asking thoughtful questions, and making sure that my students feel seen.

I have experience tutoring one-on-one and in group settings. I have provided college essay editing, college prep counseling, and seminars on conflict resolution and good decision making. I tutor in subjects including reading and writing (all ages), SAT verbal, AP English, creative writing, public speaking, theater performance, leadership, and project management. If you’re looking for something that doesn’t fit into any of these, let’s get in touch and see if it’s a good fit!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Sophie is a wonderful tutor, very proactive, and organized, and through our first lesson, she discussed and provided guidance on my child's essay and college application plan, etc. which was very helpful. She seems dedicated to helping the student, and I felt that she made an effort. I hope that, under Sophie's guidance, the essay will come to a successful conclusion, and I'm looking forward to good results.
