Hey, I'm Harut and I'm a current Software Engineer at Google LAX. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
I began my CS education at the age of 13 when I attended a specialized institution for programming in Armenia called TUMO - Center for Creative Technologies. I graduated school in 2017 and began University. From 2018 I've worked at a number of companies in the tech industry, such as Amazon, NASA Jet Propulsion Lab, and Covalent (a local tech startup in LA). I have also worked in academia as a researcher, primarily focusing on program synthesis. I've worked with Ruben Martins at Carnegie Mellon University, Sarah Chasins and Shawn Shadden at UC Berkeley, and Jussi Eloranta at California State University Northridge.
Most importantly I began working as a Teacher's Assistant in February 2018, and continued for 3 years. I received CRLA Master Level certification for tutoring in Summer 2018. I love teaching and it has been my passion ever since, and is what motivated me to pursue academia as well as industry positions. Currently I work at Google and my daily projects involve fullstack development with a focus on the backend as well as machine learning. I currently am also part of a group of Google engineers that teach CS130 (Software Engineering) at UCLA, each year during the spring quarter.
