I have a bachelors of science in Computer Science and I didn't realize how much I loved teaching people code and computer science until I started tutoring in the last year of my degree. I love seeing people light up when they finally get a piece of code working or they finally understand an abstract concept. I have found that the most effective method for teaching a hard concept is to first ask the student questions to identify their knowledge gap is. Once I've figured that out, I can start filling in those gaps by guiding the student to ask me the right questions. Only then can they truly understand the answer!

Many students came to me for tutoring expecting answers. However, through my experience of tutoring my peers and fellow undergraduates, I've come to the conclusion that everyone can overcome their learning obstacles with a bit of patience and lots of questions, not answers! Well at least not right away. I hope I can help my future students learn any concept that may confuse them and watch as their grades reflect their new knowledge!
