About Michelle

Bio

I am a wife, mother and teacher. I have a California teaching credential and Master's degree. I taught in the classroom until 2024. I am tutoring middle school students currently. I have passed the subject matter testing for all subjects and reading instruction for the state of California. My strengths are reading, writing, speaking and public speaking. I have extensive familiarity with children with disabilities and their IEPs and accommodations especially ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders....

Tutoring is really enjoyable because of the personal nature and individual attention I can give. I can make learning fun!

I am currently tutoring a Kindergartner and third grader. My last teaching position was for a 5th/ 6th combination class. My undergraduate degree had an emphasis in elementary education.

I have a strong command of the English language. I have high standards for accuracy in reading, writing and speaking as well as an extensive vocabulary.

My master's degree and teaching credential are for Special Education however I am able to meet the subject matter requirements for K-12. I have taught special needs students for 12 years.

I have my California Credential which qualifies me to teach K-12 students with disabilities. This credential can be verified and is valid until March 2028. I work successfully with students that struggle with attention issues, ADD/ ADHD.

I have my California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Added Autism Authorization (AAAS) which qualifies me to teach K-12 students with disabilities. This credential can be verified and is valid until March 1, 2028. Master of Arts, Education- Special Education granted in May 2018 from Azusa Pacific University. Experience as a paraeducator and credentialed teacher since 2009.

Extremely knowledgeable and well versed tutor

Due to this being a first time having a tutor help our son we were a bit skeptical of how it would go. I can honestly say that Michelle was very knowledgeable, caring, able to relate and gain the trust of our son very quickly. We had a concern since our son had an IEP for language and comprehension. Michelle blew us away with how well versed she was in knowing all of the in-n-outs of the IEP process. I would highly recommend Michelle to anyone who has a child with a learning issue. She explains the learning process in such an easy way for the child to understand. She truly is an asset that we can't put words on how appreciative we are for her talent, knowledge and overall ability to teach to the child's level!
