My name is Connor Salazar, and I’m a Special Education teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience in public schools. I hold a Mild to Moderate Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Master’s in Urban Education with a concentration in Digital Learning from Loyola Marymount University, along with a certification to work with students who display Autistic-like characteristics. My educational background has provided me with a strong foundation in instructional design, technology integration, and inclusive teaching practices that support learners with diverse needs.

Throughout my career, I’ve taught middle school English, Math, Science, History, Study Skills, College & Career Readiness, and Student Leadership across a variety of instructional settings: including Special Day Classes, Resource Specialist Programs, and Fully Inclusive Models. I’ve worked with students in grades K–8, providing both whole-class instruction and one-on-one or small-group support. My teaching approach is grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and research-based strategies, ensuring that ALL STUDENTS receive personalized instruction tailored to their strengths and learning styles.

In addition to my classroom work, I’ve served as a football coach for the past seven years, helping student-athletes develop teamwork, discipline, and confidence. For the past two years, I’ve also led a Student Leadership and middle school transition program called Where Everyone Belongs (WEB), which empowers students to become inclusive leaders and supports incoming students as they adjust to middle school life. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as an in-class tutor for grades K–5 and as a youth sports coach, experiences that solidified my passion for guiding young learners both academically and personally. I take pride in creating a learning environment where every student feels capable, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been an Education Specialist going on my 10th year and I have taught multiple grade levels. My expertise is working with students who require intervention services. Even though I teach middle school students, many of them academically function at a elementary level so I very familiar with the elementary standards and skills for both ELA and Math. Also, my teaching credential allows me to work with student across all grade levels and I personally enjoy K-8. Before teaching, I was a tutor for a year at an elementary school where I personally worked with students one-on-one for grades K-5, so I have experience with this age group.
