Hi! My name is Kelly, and I am a certified high school teacher. I have taught all levels of biology, including College Prep Biology, Honors Biology and AP Biology at the same high school for 20 years. When I teach, connecting with students is very important to me. When tutoring, I individualize instruction specific to the student, since students learn in different ways. Since I have been teaching for many years, I am quickly able to assess where and how the student is struggling, and address the student’s needs. Students frequently say that I am patient and easy to approach with any questions.
On last year’s AP Biology exam, out of 70 students, over 91% of my students passed the exam. Over 50% received 4s and 5s on the exam. Whether it be Biology or AP Biology, I have a passion for the subject and truly enjoy and love teaching the subject and establishing a relationship with every student. I have many resources that I use to help students gain understanding and confidence about biology.
I have my BA in Psychology and Social Behavior. I have my Masters in Biological Sciences and my work was published in a scientific journal. I am a certified teacher currently teaching at a high school.
